In 5th grade when I was attending the Green School, there was a lack of technology so I started an initiative called Ice Cream for iPads, where I served scoops of Italian Gelato to students during my break. There was a wonderful gelateria where I bought the ice cream wholesale and sold it for double which was a little less than $2.50 per scoop. This project took lots of planning and thinking out but there were great results. To tell you a little bit about the process I had to figure out how much ice cream I would have to buy and sell to break even, and how big the scoops would have to be. I also had to figure out what my expenses would be, ie. the cooler, cups, spoons, electricity, etc. I decorated the cooler with rings of bamboo with the help of my dad and was able to put it on wheels.
I ended up raising enough money to buy 4 iPads for the schools library, and since I have left ice cream has continued to be sold to satisfied customers. Visiting back there it was a really cool feeling seeing what I had started continue on.
